In Good Company : Yui's Style Guide

Welcome to this edition of In Good Company, where we love to meet and celebrate the people who inspire us. This month, we meet Yui, @colorbyyui, born and raised in Japan and now based in San Diego, California. She started sharing her wonderful style only a year and half ago to bring back her true colour after tough times. In this creative style guide, she shows us how to wear socks in Spring and Summer with confidence, colour, and a little bit of playful rebellion

Can you tell us a little about yourself - where your based, what you do and what your passionate about?

Hi, I’m Yui, I like to share colours and things that brings me joy.
I’m just a girl who loves colours. I was born and raised in Japan and moved to California. I am also a mom of two wonderfully silly girls that light up my life.

How do you describe your personal style in a few words?

Colourful and joyful, for me there is such a thing like clash. Everything is okay as long as you are happy with it.

Where do you usually find outfit inspiration?

I wonder where I get it from... honestly, I don't really think about where my inspiration comes from. When I’m putting an outfit together, I just play around with my wardrobe a lot. I even pull out old clothes from 10 years ago!
My life is very simple. I have two young kids, so my day-to-day might seem boring to some. But I still find colours everywhere I go.

Are comfort and practicality important to your style?

Yes, huge! When I’m with my girls I dress up a bit more casual but still playful.

What's your favourite way to style socks day to day?

Obviously, I love colourful socks. I’d love to have them in every colour possible! But at the same time, white socks are so simple yet make such a statement.
